So here a little bit of a background story to my life. Well, a small percentage of my life. At school, you get to chose you're subjects for grades 10, 11 and 12. (Wow Katie, why are your stories so interesting? shuttup, you.) My favourite subject of grade ten, and prepare for a fun Katie fact here, was Drama. I was top of the grade, and getting 98% in it. But then, the next year, the stupid bloody school stuffed up my timetable, making it impossible for me to do Drama in grade 11.
Its fair to say that I raged, just a little.
They, instead, made me do the worst subject of all time. Media. Urlackk. The word even makes me cringe. Its a pointless subject with a huge work load, and I'm sick of it.
So, I made an appointment with Umbridge, our Curriculum Councillor or whatever, so I could make sure that I didn't have to do media next year.
And what does the she do? Spend 30 minutes attempting to convince me to do Media because I'm getting an A.
Why? Why do that?
YOU know I dont want to do media, because you made me cry about having to do it last year, because it was your bloody fault I was in this position to start with. So, no. Don't try and change my mind, I'm not doing it. now leave me alone to wallow in self pity (just another Friday night...)

Hope
Hope. Its something most people need to keep going on. The light at the end of the tunnel, if you will. i know that if it weren't for hope, I couldn't go on. I for one need to have hope that things will get better when they're not good. But for some people, I don't know how they can go on. Sometimes I don't see why some people can get hope.
On Friday, I woke up at the bright and early time of 5. I had to be at the train station (or as us Aussies ever-so-classily call it, the traino) by 6. I know it sounds weird, but I was excited for it. We were going to the city so we could raise money for Malawi. They don't have any clean water, so we were to stand in popular places in the city and shake cans, screaming our heart out, to get the money to build a well over there. It cost $500 to build a well, and 1500 people can survive off of it. It's literally $1 to save the lives of 3 people, and that it an amazing amount.
I'd been looking forward to the day for weeks, because I did it last year, and it was one of the greatest things I'd done. I woke up to rain, it was pouring. But I still grabbed my umbrella and left the house. As we were driving, I started to feel my fingers go numb from the cold- as you couldn't see anything. The streets were in complete darkness. It was a weird feeling. I hardly ever drive at night time, and when I do, its usually because I'm going to the airport.
We arrived at the city around 7am, and were greeted by a large, busy crowd. The reason we had left so early was to catch the incredible flow of people going to work. So there we stood, around 20 girls in the pouring rain, screaming for money to build wells.
You'd think that we'd be greeted nicely, with people happy to give money, and gaining some sort of hope from us. But no, that didn't happen. I was happy with the people who did give money, but to most of them it looked like a chore. In fact, we were told to be "quiet" by numerous people, who were on the phones walking past. We weren't even yelling directly at them, but at the swarms of people passing us. We had people telling us that the people of Malawi should just 'get off their asses and do it themselves". The most horrible of comments I received came from a young group of men. The were smoking and, to be quite honest, looks quite drunk. as they walked past me, one of the drunken men turn to the group and remarked "if I had any change, I'd buy her for the night."
I'm not meaning to sound depressed, because there were alot of people in the couple of hours that we were there who gladly donated. I had a man from the water corp who talked to me nicely for a couple of minutes, then gave $20 in. But, over all, I was appalled by the lack of kindness in my home town. I was thinking that this event, like it did last would, would give me hope. But instead it took my hope away.
We got back to school for 3rd Period, and were ushered into our auditorium. I wasn't sure what was going on, but I sat down with my Best Friend, ready for what was coming.
We were greeted with pounding African music, and straight away a group of young African children, none of whom were older than about 12, running on stage. they started dancing and singing. Their smiling and joyful faces illuminated. not a single person in the room was left without a smile themselves.
After the song was finished, one of them started speaking in broken up English. It was obvious that this was not her first language, but she was trying and succeeding at speaking it.
I will never forget her story. She revealed to us all, that herself- along with all the other children one the stage- were orphans to AIDS. Her parents had died when she was a baby, and she had been an orphan ever since. But now, the group of child are happy to travel the world, singing about god, because with the chorus they were given a "family'.
Tears were running down my face, my makeup was complete smudged, but I didn't care. though I myself am a strong non-believer, what she was saying reminded me of what was pure and good in the world. This little girl gave me hope.
I didn't get a chance to talk to her, or to talk her for what she had done to help me. But now I know that humans aren't always bad. Some days that weather put people in a bad mood, sometimes it personal problems- but this girl reminded me that theres some people with much bigger problems that i will ever have to face.
If she could stand in front of a group of teenagers and tell her story, still happy for the life that she has been blessed with, then there is no reason i can't be happen with what I have. My life is wonderful, and I love it- even if it took a chorus full of orphans to teach me that.

An Open Letter to All Men.
Dear IDIOT,
Why can you never see whats right infront of you?
Why do you always look past the one thats always there? Why do you go for the skanks?
I would get it, IF they actually had personalities that we.re repulsive. But most of them do. Most of them have had some 'issue' in their life that makes them that desprite for attention. They basically give away their own body, so how is that attractive?
And why do you always like the wrong girl? The girl thats best friends with the one you SHOULD be with, or the girl that is oly nice to you becase she feels sorry for you? Pull it together, men, and like the right girl.
And in the small occasion that you go for the rigt girl, WHY do you do nothing?
I mean, I've been waiting for you for 6 MONTHS now. I know you feel something, so why do nothing? Why toss me aside like any other girl?
Do you know how it makes me feel? Unattractive. It makes me feel like I'm not needed- and am only being used as a wanking tool at night. I'm not that girl. I'm not the girl that needs to be called hot- to have guys falling at her feet- I just want one nice guy. Is that too much to ask from you?
And dont even get me started on your 'when-you're-mad-at-me-I'll-just-like-all-the-things-you've-ever-posted-on-my-wall' thing you do. Why? If I'm mad, ts because you frustrate me. Stop being annoying.
So before I go off this rage- heres a bit of advice; Go for it. Find the right girl and take her, before shes gone forever. Some girls, myself included, just want to feel safe. We want to laugh, love and live. Its not tat difficult for you to do- so why cant you pull your act together and do it?
And now I'm just talkig to YOU. YOU know who you are- and YOU should listen. Why hve you been screwing me around for months? I pine over you, and you pine over me, but nothings happening. Be a mana take the moment- cause I can't wait forever. I know I should probably say something to you about it- but I just want to know you care enough to do something. I want you to care even.
After all, the song speaks the truth- I want you to want me, I need you to need me.
Lots ofLove mutual feelings,
Katie.
And now onto the 0 of you who have been wondering where I went. I've decided to can the everyday thing- my last post was testimony for not doing something because you have to. My life isnt interesting enough to blog everyday, so I'll only do it when I feel like it, ok?

Never ending things. And not the good type
I hate things that dont have a proper ending. Books, Movies, TV shows or even life. It just sucks when you dont know how the characters you've been attached to end up.
I've spent the past couple of days watching 10 Things I Hate About You, the series. Its a little tacky, loosely follows the movie and doesn't have the best acting at times- but I can't stop watching. Its the Patrick Veron that does it for me.
Anyway, I've spent every spare bit of my time watching this TV show, for what? To have it end on a cliff hanger. I wanted to kill the writer.
In fact, I'm going to come back to this topic when I have more time- as the guy that I like is talking to me. And sorry, but I love him more. To be honest, I just thought I had to post today... so yeah :)

Backstabbing bitches
Backstabbing. The action or practice of criticizing someone in a treacherous manner while feigning friendship. Its something we all try not to do, (or at least MOST of us try not to do) and something we all hate to be done to us.
Personally, I'm under the belief that this action is worse than any other- because its performed by a friend. Somone you love. Someone you trust. And it begs the question, is anyone in our lives actually trust worthy?
Thats a question i've been asking myself a lot lately. I used to think I could trust alot of people. I used to think I had alot of close friends. Its moments in my life like these that i'm doubting that.
Basically, a while ago- like I've mentioned before- I went on a trip to Canberra and Sydney with my school. My best friend was going, so I was quite excited. We had fun and all, and even stayed up all night talking about boys- it was very 'stereotypical girl' of me, I know, but it was fun.
One night, though, I fell asleep before the other girls. In my dorm was my best friend and a really close friend of mine (heck, I'd even count her as one of my best friends). I woke up half way through the night and caught a bit of their conversation. I was literally sleeping in the same bed as them, lying RIGHT next to them and they were taking about my brother. They were talking about MY twin brother in very harsh and horrible ways. I stayed still, trying to appear asleep, as they continued to talk. They just kept roling with the insults, laughing at every joke they made at his expence.
Anyone who knows me would know that my Brother, though he is blissfully ignorant to this fact, is my hero. He is my favourite person in the world. The onnly person I can ever full count on- and I love him more than I can express. I know its being cheezy, but its just how I feel- and they knew that. They KNEW I'm protective of him, the KNEW that he thought they were friends and they KNEW that I was lying right next to them.
Next, they moved on to talking about me. Now, let me fill you in on something- my Best Friend thinks the guy shes in love with likes me. I'm fairly sure that he doesn't, but she believes this. So, as you can imagine, she was bitching about how I wasn't better than her. Saying that I wasn't worthy of him or some shit. I WAS LYING RIGHT THERE!?
That was enough for me to hear for one night, so I fell back to sleep.
I brought it up the next day, because I wanted to sort it out. I wanted to know what was going through their heads when they openly insulted half of my family when I was lying there. I could litterally feel the knife going further into my back with every word.
When I brought it up, however, they shurgged when I mention that I heard what they said about my Brother- and focused on trying to figure out what they said about me. I didn't care to much about what they had said about me, because I frankly dont care what people think. I'm me, and nothings gonna change that. Was I really upset that even my best friends thought of me like that? yes, but I care more about other things they said.
She didn't even say sorry about my brother. To this day, she hasn't said sorry. And it pisses me off.
Since then I've heard that shes said more about me and my family behind me back. I've heard her telling numerous people about the guy that I like- and I know for a fact that shes even told the guy.
I know I'm not the most perfect friend, but I mean- come on!
I haven't been able to look at her since. I can't be alone with her and I can't have a conversation with her. And I hate it. Shes my best friend and she stabbed me in the back.
And I know all this stuff, on the scale of important things in life is like a 0.5. I know that its not even worth getting upset over- because this story has everything a pathetic teen drama has- boys, bitching and blues- but I dont care. No matter how stupid it is, it still hurts.
So yeah, I think backstabbing is the worst thing someone can do- because its your FRIENDS that do it to you. When the pain comes from someone you love, it hurts just that little bit more.
Sorry for the sob story, just needed to get it out there.

List of the Days events
So, basically what I've decided is that I'm going to blog everyday (in April and in everyother months). Well, everyday for as long as I can be bothered. You shouldn't have to wait too long for me to fail
I mean, since this is a diary-ish thing, why not do everyday, right? Well, it appears I encountered a problemo on my second day. My life is boring, and I've basically done nothing but school all day. So I am now, as you will all (yes, all 0 of you) be very thankful- sharing random parts of my day.
So, I woke up in the morning (unfortunately, it was nether 7am or in a manner that made me feel like P Diddy) at like 6am. 6AM, right!? thats the time I have to get up everyday for school. Whys that, you may ask? Its because I have a personal rule stating I have to wake up atleast 2 hours before I go anywhere. This sucks at the time, but is a rule I'm ultamatley thankful for, as it stops me from looking like Gollum when I see people.
So I dragged myself out of bed, and crawled to my computer to check facebook. Yes, its because I'm obsessed, and YES its because most of the people I talk to, I dont see/hang out with IRL. But then I did something that will forever change my life. I changed the language on facebook from English- the language we here in Australia speak, though I admittably dont do it well- to Spanish. I dont know why this entertains me so much, but it did. Infact, I've been liking random things all day because it says "Me gusta" instead of 'like'. i find that enjoyable :) dont judge, yo!
I literally had to make the trip to school twice today, because I forgot my homework the first time (because I was too busy on facebook and tumblr, my other lovah, to remember.) and started my day with economics. I hate economics. Next, I had media. I hate media even more. infact, I wanted to do drama instead- a subject I was top of last year, and getting 98% in- something that was my favourite subject. BUT, due to the bullshit timetables our school has, they forced me to do media. Needless to say, I raged for quite a while, and even though its been almost half a year- I'm still not over it. Infact, I still believe that Voldemort is the one behind this- especially because the timetable lady at our school is EXACTLY like Umbridge, and we all know Umbridge could always be convinced to go to the dark side. Lets face it.
And after that horrible morning- so horrifying that I'm sure many of you are still in tears- I finally had Politic and Law- ze favourite subject of mine (yes, I know, mock me as you will.) Now let me share with you something one of my bestfriends said to me. She was, I kid you not, full serious and still claims what she said made sence. We were talking about what shade of red I should dye my currently blonde hair for DH part 2, so I could be a Weasley (why so cool?). She then turned to me and said "You know how Sian died her hair purple? I think it should look like that, but just red." *facepalm*
I did have 3 more classes that were especially boring- even more boring that the rest of my day- but I'm not going to tell you about then. I know you must all be so disapointed, but I must be off for now- I'M going to a Church party for a guy whose just turned 18, Yes, I dont know him very well, and yes I go to church dispite the fact I'm a strong non-believer- but still, it should be fun. Woop Woop.

P.S I grammer not well, and dont have time to proof read. Deal with it. Or shall I say With Deal It?

I know you must all be so disapointed, but I must be off for now- I'M going to a Church party for a guy whose just turned 18, Yes, I dont know him very well, and yes I go to church dispite the fact I'm a strong non-believer- but still, it should be fun. Woop Woop.
CHOW FOR NOW x
P.S I grammer not well, and dont have time to proof read. Deal with it. Or shall I say With Deal It?

I-I read your Diary
My plan is for this to become my diary. Not a diary in the kind of "Dear Diary" 5-year-old way, but more like a collection of my thoughts.
Like, I'm not writing this to please anyone. I'm not going to link my account on facebook, or give out the link at family dinner. This is for me, my computer and anyone who seems to find me along the way.
As my first blog I suppose I should just say information about myself. But instead I think I'll tell a story (whenever I say the word story, I think of people gathering around the campfire and telling fictional ghost stories, but this is real, yo!) that basically sums up my life.
So, the other week I was in Canberra for a holiday. For those of you who don't know or for my future self- if you are reading this, and by this time have gone a little (or at least MORE) insane, and forget what Canberra is- it's a place in Australia. ANYWAY, I was in a shopping centre bathroom, washing my hands- as you do. There were four; crisp, clean sinks next to the one I was currently making good use of. They were the sort of fancy sinks that each had an individual soap dispenser- which you don’t usually find in the place I live, hence why I called them fancy- rather than one dispenser for the entire bathroom.
A flush rang, and this rather old lady (well, extremely old lady) shuffled out of a cubicle. This lady walked across all the remaining sinks, straight to the one I was using. Outstretching her hand, she took some soap from the dispenser (a word that I have used way too much so far.) I found it weird, but assumed she had some sort of inside information that the other sinks did not have any soap. But I was wrong.
Instead of taking her soap and shuffling to her choice of the next four sinks, she literally started rinsing her hand in my basin- well, the one I was using at least. She just put her hand closer to the faucet, making all her dirty water fall to my hands. I looked up at her, shocked. It was a small annoyance in the span of things, but I just couldn't figure out why she would do that!?
I dramatically walked away, pulling loudly for paper towels, which I used and promptly threw on the floor. Unfortunately I missed the bin, so my dramatic exit was taken down a few pegs, but all the same- it was quite dramatic. The lady didn't even bat an eyelid, however. I mean, am I invisible? Is this just something Canberra people do? In fact, I’m still incredibly puzzled about why this lady chose to invade my bubble!?
But anyway, my point is that that’s the story of my life. I'm a drama queen whom though she attempt to make her self heard, is invisible to everyone who isn't one of my close friends. At the end of the day, people often don’t see me for me- and though I'm sure this lady wouldn't have even work out even a little bit about me- most people just know me as that smart chick, or that Harry Potter nerd. They're not BAD things to be, but that’s all most people see me as.
Well, I think that’s enough from me, for tonight. I think I'll enjoy talking to myself for the next couple of weeks, and I hope some day I'll enjoy reading them (which, lets face it, I'll probably be too lazy to do.)
CHOW FOR NOW.
And yes, that is me and one of my besties infront of the Sydney Opera House :)
